Abstract:
Geohazards—geological conditions capable of causing damage or loss of property and/or life—are the focus of the 2025 IGWS calendar.
Landslides, earthquakes, karst, mine subsidence, and coastal erosion are all geologic hazards in Indiana. IGWS geologists are responding to these dangers by creating maps to support informed land-use decisions. Homeowners, educators, and emergency managers can use IGWS reserach to identify geologic hazards and mitigate their danger.
